Hamburger Meat and Rice Casserole
Introduction

Ingredients:
– 1 pound (450g) ground beef
– 1 cup (200g) long-grain white rice

– 1 can (10.75 ounces or 305g) condensed tomato soup
– 1 can (14.5 ounces or 410g) diced tomatoes
– 1 cup (240ml) beef broth
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon dried basil
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 cup (120g) shredded cheddar cheese
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the ground beef. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
4. Stir in the rice, condensed tomato soup, diced tomatoes, beef broth, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
5. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch (23x33cm) baking dish. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the rice is tender.
6. Remove the casserole from the oven and uncover. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the casserole, then return it to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
